A soundscape from my debut album, "summer crickets. . . " takes several field recordings of rural summer ambiance and mixes them with my own acoustic guitar strumming. You will hear the delightful sound of neighborhood kids playing a friendly - or sometimes not so friendly - game of wiffleball which adds to the reflective nature of this recording. The trilling bird calling towards the end of the recording is the beautiful little, rusty-capped chipping sparrow. These chipping sparrows converge on the midwest around this time and their calls can be mistaken as an insect. Enjoy this summer 2016 recording and maybe it will trigger wonderful, innocent memories of your own childhood.

End of school day, kids waiting for their ride home. Various busses arrive and the kids get on them. The busses drive away. Lots of voices, and engines. A flag can also be heard flapping in the wind. Recorded with: fostex fr2le, bp4025.

I was playing around with a mic i borrowed from my school when this little plane flew over my house. I quickly opened my window and recorded this sound. You can also hear some birds and kids playing (i live near a school). The sound is heavily gained so you should hear some noise.

You will also hear the subtle singing of the birds that always greet you in late winter. . . Birds like house sparrows and starlings. From time to time, you'll hear the tinkly, nice sound of some wind-chimes hanging on the front porch of some house. The skittering of dried and old leaves scooting across the ground also makes an appearance. Enjoy this cold late-winter soundscape!. By now covid is getting smaller and smaller in the rear view mirror, mother nature has decided to give us an extra 15 degrees of warmth and the adults, and youngsters are having fun just being outside and smiling and laughing. This is a recording of children playing in the large playground at the luxembourg gardens in paris, france. The recording was made from the east side of the playground, next to an attraction that allows kids to hang from a sort of harness and slide down a rail.
